GLENN HUGHES Says IOMMI's 'Fused' Outtake Contains Some Of His 'All-Time Favorite Soul Singing'
July 18, 2005Legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) has posted the following message on his official web site:
"I am back in L.A. 'Fused' [Tony Iommi's solo album, on which Hughes appears] is now released and Tony and I are all excited for you to hear it. There is a song we did called 'The Innocence' that is available in iTunes so check it out. This has some of my all-time favorite soul singing on the end of the song.
"For all of you in America, I urge you to check out Tony with SABBATH on Ozzfest, as he is in top form.
"I am taking some time off now as I am going to spend the summer writing. I am going to the premiere of 'Stealth' with Chad [Smith, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS] in Westwood in L.A. on Monday, a movie for which we recorded a song. Hope you enjoy 'Nights in White Satin' as much as John, Chad and I do!"
Hughes's latest solo album, "Soul Mover", was released earlier in the year on Sanctuary Records.
"Soul Mover" was recorded live at Sound Image Studios in Los Angeles in the spring of 2004 and features Smith on drums, JJ Marsh on guitar and Ed Roth on keyboards. The album also contains a special guest appearance by ex-RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro on the title track.
